Concrete Removal
Concrete removal covers everything from a cracked loading dock apron to interior slabs, footings, foundation walls, equipment pads and stairs. The work is straightforward; what varies is how the concrete is broken out, how it gets off the site, and what has to survive the process around it.
What the job covers
- Interior and exterior slabs, sidewalks, driveways, aprons and pads
- Foundation walls, footings, piers and below-grade structure
- Steps, landings, curbs, retaining walls and loading docks
- Reinforced and post-tensioned sections, cut and removed in controlled pieces
- Sub-base left graded and ready for the new pour
- Concrete separated and recycled as aggregate where the job allows
- Debris loaded, hauled and disposed of
What affects the quote
- Thickness, reinforcement and whether the slab is post-tensioned — which changes the method entirely
- Whether the work is inside, where breaking generates noise, dust and vibration in occupied space
- Access for the equipment and for the trucks taking material away
- What runs underneath — conduit, drainage and utilities cast into or beneath the slab
- Whether anything adjoining has to stay undamaged and undisturbed
- Depth of removal and what the sub-base needs to be left at
Every job is quoted after we understand the site. Photographs of what needs to come down, and of how a machine would reach it, get you an accurate number faster than a description will.
Common questions
Before you call
Can you remove a slab inside an occupied building?
Yes, and it is common. Electric and hydraulic breakers keep fumes out of the space, and cutting the slab into sections first means less breaking, less vibration and far less noise than working it as one piece. Dust containment and protection of the route out are part of the job.
Do you take the concrete away?
Yes. Clean concrete is a recyclable material and is separated for crushing where the job allows, rather than going out as mixed debris.
